OISE’s teaching philosophy and approach

OISE's pedagogical philosophy is based on the premise that clear aims and hard work in a privileged environment yield the best results.
The teaching team constantly follows and guides each student individually to ensure their success.

From this perspective, the OISE French Institute in Paris offers dynamic French classes during which motivated and ambitious students are always strongly stimulated and challenged.

All the French programmes are designed to improve the student’s fluency and accuracy and increase confidence to ensure mastery of the French language.

The lessons are taught around the following essential features:

  • transparent objectives, clearly identified at the beginning of each lesson
  • focus on key language skills and language learning strategies
  • appropriate time limits set for each activity
  • a pace calculated to challenge the learner at all times
  • interaction between teacher ↔ student and student ↔ student (as appropriate)
  • private study exercises, which consolidate classroom activities and preparation time to maximise the benefits of the lesson
  • feedback on progress achieved in the French language

Individual attention

Classes are structured to maximise individual attention to each student. OISE is committed to its policy of teaching in small groups (1 or 4 students per class) to ensure that students benefit from individual attention even within a group environment.
However, individual lessons remain the best option for personalised teaching.
