OISE prepares students for all internationally recognised French language examinations.
There are two ways of measuring and validating competence in the French Language: diplomas and tests.
Certifications or diplomas assess language skills and know how after preparing for a set syllabus. There are several different examinations to choose from. There is no limmit to their validity.
Tests measure a student's language skills at any time during their learning. There is no specific syllabus. They have limited validity. All candidates receive a certificate of results that grades them at one of six levels (from A1 to C2) on the competency scale defined by the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

General French qualifications
- The DILF (Diplôme Initial de Langue Française, or initial diploma in French language) is a qualification in French as a foreign language that assesses basic users (level A1.1 of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
It is an initial step towards the DELF and DALF and assesses the 4 language skills:
- listening
- reading
- speaking
- writing

The DELF and DALF are composed by 6 independent diplomas, each corresponding to the 6 levels Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. At each level, the 4 language skills are assessed: oral comprehension and expression, written comprehension and expression.

Professional French diplomas of the
Paris Chamber of Commerce are practical exams testing writing and oral skills in French in the main situations of professional life at different levels. No other diploma is required, except for the professional French diploma C1 Business (former DFA2) which is necessary to take the professional French diploma in Business C2 (former DAFA)
- CFP: Certificat de Français Professionnel
- DFP A2 (Diplôme de Français Professionnel, niveau A2)
- DFP B1 (Diplôme de Français Professionnel, niveau B1)
- DFP Business B2 (Diplôme de Français Professionnel, niveau B2)
- DFP Business C1 (Diplôme de Français Professionnel, niveau C1)
- DFP Business C2(Diplôme de Français Professionnel, Niveau C2)
- and any other Technical French diplomas (tourism-hotel , secretarial, law and medical)
Tests
- TCF (Test de Connaissance du Français)
The TCF is the standard and graded French language test awarded by the French Ministry of Education. Candidates receive a certificate of results that grades them at one of six levels (from A1 to C2) on the competency scale defined by the Council of Europe (CEFR: Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
The TCF consists of 3 compulsory examinations: oral comprehension, grammar and syntax, reading comprehension. These are multiple choice questions with a duration of 1.5 hour. The TCF can also consists of 2 optional tests (writing and oral expression). Results are valid for 2 years.

It is offered by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and consists of three compulsory tests: reading comprehension, oral comprehension and grammar/vocabulary. Two tests are optional: oral expression and written expression.
Results are valid for one year.
AS/A Level and Abitur revision and preparation programme
These programmes are to help students improve there abilities in listening, speaking, reading and writing, by revising grammar and syntax, developing vocabulary and improving pronunciation. Students practice written expression: study and comment of literary and civilisation texts, summaries... They also receive course methodology for the specific tests: presentation and debating skills, letter writing skills...
